From the Galapagos islands to Quito

I left the Galapagos islands on Wednesday and flew to Quito, the capital of Ecuador. I'm not spending much time here as I was here for three weeks here in 2007, but enough to have a quick wander round and a walk down memory lane, make a couple of new memories and plan where I'll go next...

Another slightly subjective fact. Peruvian mountain roads are among the most dangerous in the world.

Legend has it that the Incas discovered the Galapagos islands in the fifteenth century but no solid evidence has been found to prove this.

The dazzling blue ocean along the Mayan riviera is due to the fact that there are no rivers feeding into it. And because of the lack of nutrients flowing into the sea, there is also less animal life along this part of the ocean.
